New Year, Fresh Home- Renovations I'd Like to Complete This Year

One of my resolutions for this year is to make a start with some home improvements. Me and my husband have bought our home so have free reign to make any chances we like, however we're both mental health nurses so lead busy lives- often working different shifts and twelve hour work days being the norm. Of course this has meant that we've not made as many changes to our home as we'd like. But this year, I'm hoping to make the following improvements

Firstly, I want to get a new designed fitted bathroom and am currently looking around to get ideas. I really think having a nice bathroom in the home is important, it's a place you can come to at the end of the day and completely relax. A hot bath or shower can make everything feel better, it eases tense muscles, helps you to clear your head and according to research it can even lower blood pressure. I'd like something classic but still quite modern, a room that feels fresh and spa like while still being inviting. Once I've got the suite, tiles and floor in I'll invest in some nice fluffy towels, a bath mat and some accessories to make it more cosy.

Beauty Room
Im lucky enough to have a spare room in my home, however right now it's not being used to its full potential. I do have a lot of stuff in general so this has become a bit of a dumping ground for things like shoes, bags and clothes although I am working my way through the clutter. I'd love to have a makeup and beauty room, I've watched lots of Youtube videos for inspiration. Some built in wardrobes to hang my clothes, shelves for shoes and bags and a nice dressing table where I can do my makeup and skincare routine would be amazing.

Finally, the house could use just a little sprucing up all over and a fresh coat of paint would do the trick. I plan on painting everywhere a nice light neutral which will make the most of the space and will match any other colours or decor I decide to go with. I'd like everywhere to feel fresh, calming and inviting and I think creating a blank canvas with neutral decor is a good way to go about it.

What renovation or home improvement goals do you have in mind for this year?
